Is there a link between New Deal and ID cards? Well, there is likely to be a link with many aspects of life if it isn't stopped, which might be too late as it is law in the present tense. First of all, have a look at this:

Now,
how about you are unemployed, so you go to Jobcentreplus. Let's
imagine that apart from the usual incentives like the nice lady on
reception being really friendly and pleased to see you, one of the
conditions that you need to fulfil is to provide identification i.e.
official government surveillance database identification. Now, what are
you going to do if you don't have an ID card? Even if you want one and
think they are the best thing since sliced bread you might have
difficulty, because you will have to pay for it and all future
compulsory updates e.g. when you change your address.
That will do one of two things . It will either, help cut down the
number of people ending up on New Deal, or bully people and impoverish
them into capitulation. Either way, it is a bad thing. Why? Well,
believe or not, those people who don't appear in the unemployment
system will still be there, unless they decide to emigrate or kill
themselves, which will have consequences for everyone else in society,
including all the hard working, virtuous employed people. Of course if
they want to emigrate, they will have to apply for passport
which uses the same system. If they want a job they may well
find
that the they are subject to an embargo if they cannot produce their ID
card. Oh dear.
It is currently the policy of Jobcentreplus to ban you from working if you don't produce a form of ID that they dictate, which has the effect of outlawing perfectly decent law abiding citizens from society. They claim to be an Equal Opportunities employer then conduct blatant discrimination.
There
is something fundamentally wrong with a society where you have to show
an ID card in order to exist and to carry out basic everyday functions
of life. A passport used to be something you used to enter another
country, not to live in your own country. There is no reason for it to
be any different today.
For those of you who like to believe
stories about the government protecting you from terrorism, how do you
like this scenario:
You travel abroad and carry your ID card in your pocket, wallet or bag. The afore mentioned terrorists plant a bomb designed to detonate when it detects that you are a British citizen via the transmissions coming from the RFID chip in your card. A very useful tool.
To finish, the chip in your ID card has been found to be a cause of cancer.
